The tool is used to unlock a contact (40) in an electrical connector component. The contact (40) is unlocked by the front of the connector component and removed by the back of the built-in piece (30) which is part of the contact holding system of the connector. The built-in piece (30) contains, in its front part, four passages (32) situated around the central contact's passage (31). The tool comprises a cylindrical hollow component (10) fitted with four teeth (12). These teeth (12) can be inserted into the four passages (32) of the built-in piece (30) in order to unlock the contact holding mechanism so that the contact (40) can be removed by the back of the built-in piece (30). The teeth of the tool can be bevelled or have an arched shaped.
